The Plantation sits on Treeline Avenue between Daniels Parkway and Colonial Boulevard, about ten minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport. Roughly 1,100 homes were built here by Centex and then Pulte between 2006 and 2019, divided into two neighborhoods: Somerset on the golf side and Bridgetown on the non-golf side. Golf is optional rather than bundled — the Hurdzan-Fry championship course and the 38,000 square foot British Colonial Great House are there if you want them, with memberships capped at 395, but no owner is forced into golf dues. What buyers get regardless is three separate activity centers for 1,100 homes: the Great House, Somerset's activity center with resort pool, spa, fitness, six tennis courts and card rooms, and Bridgetown Hall with its own resort and lap pools, six Har-Tru courts, pickleball, bocce and media lounge. Most of the community sits in FEMA Zone X.

Neighborhoods & Sub-Communities: The Plantation has two named neighborhoods — Somerset, the golf side, home to the Great House and the Hurdzan-Fry course, and Bridgetown, the non-golf side, home to Bridgetown Hall. Beneath them the divisions are builder series: Somerset's Pinehurst, Sawgrass and Augusta series, and Bridgetown's Garden, Classic and Estate series
